God’s Word tells us what makes us righteous (and at peace) before God. It is not an unknowable, confusing, or impossible thing to achieve. It IS possible to do. What a gift! What a blessing!

“This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith.” (Romans 1:17)

Wicked people hate truth and will always try and suppress it. But His Word tells us that the darkness will never overpower the light.

  • “…wicked people suppress the truth by their wickedness.” (Romans 1:18)

Do you simply just know who God is? Is He a passing second thought to you? Or do you seek Him through your circumstances and experiences? Do you thank Him with your life?

  • “Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks.” (Romans 1:21)

The more people reject God and continue in their sin against Him, the more their hearts thoughts, minds, and discernment become darkened.

  • “They began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused.” (Romans 1:21)

If you look down on people a lot and think you’re better than they are, that act is not hidden from God. And unlike you (someone who is not all-knowing and all-seeing as God is) He knows everything you have ever thought and done. And if in your pride you still think you have no problem because you are a “good” person, God also says in His Word that “…there is no one who does good. No, not one.”

“You may think you can condemn such people, but you are just as bad…for you who judge others do these very same things.” (Romans 2:1)

God, I confess to You that I sometimes think of myself more highly than I should. Help me remember that I am saved by Your grace alone.
The beautiful ocean created by God.
