There are many people who woke up this morning feeling discouraged, disheartened, or just downright defeated. Are you one of them? When we feel this way, the future seems bleak and we may feel our hopes dwindling away. Whatever the reasons for our downheartedness, these emotions we experience are real and can affect us in very real ways.
We may look at a situation and think that it is hopeless and be tempted to just give up. Maybe you have been struggling to follow God and continue doing the right thing, only to look around you and see people who have no regard for God and His ways living what appears to be the easy life and being admired and praised by many people. Or perhaps you’re feeling that the world around you is growing so dark and cold and that soon all light will be gone.
We may see things going a certain way, but we must remember that there is a God who sees things differently than we do. In His eyes, there is no darkness or fear; only goodness, hope, potential, and opportunity. Ask Him to help you when your strength is gone, and He will carry you. Keep trusting Him because He knows the way, and He already knows how everything will turn out… and His Word tells us that for His faithful ones, it is nothing but good that awaits us.
God, I woke up this morning feeling discouraged. Then I read your Word, and I became encouraged again. Thank You for help when I need it the most. Help me to continue to put my hope in You.
Ruth 3:18 – “Then Naomi said, “Wait, my daughter, until you know how the matter turns out.”
